This is why I'm going non-stop the next time...

So I thought the flight back home would be a somewhat painless situation for my brother and I. Boy was I wrong. Our flight left La Guardia around 1:30pm and everything was running smoothly, until we started making our way towards Houston.
I knew things might be bad because air traffic control had to put us on hold, so for 30-40min. the plane was circling around waiting to finish it route.
When the plane finally got the go ahead and started it's way to Houston, I saw what could be a major problem, heavy rain. And it was. The plane almost landed at the International Airport Houston , it was about 100 ft from the runway. But then it had to pull out and it tried landing again, but couldn't. By then the plane was running low on fuel, so we had to land the Houston Hobby Airport to get refueled.
After waiting in the plane for over 2 hours, the plane finally made it's way back to IAH. However, the plane we should have gotten on left an hour before we got there. Luckily, there was another flight to the John Wayne Airport in Orange County that was leaving at 10pm.
But it doesn't end there. Although we were all boarded, we had to wait another 1hour and a half on the plane for the pilot and her crew to come in from Baton Rouge. So when the pilot was finally on board, that's when we also found out that there's a curfew at the John Wayne Airport. No planes can land after 11pm. So now our plane was going to land at LAX.
It's good to know that our parents were in the L.A. area, so it only took them 45 min to pick us up.
Guess what time we finally landed at L.A.X.? 2am. If there were no weather problems we would have been back on the west coast at around 7pm.
I spent 12 hours trying to get home. So I'm thinking the next time I plan on going to New York or anywhere, I'm gonna spend the extra money to get a non-stop flight.
