New Lily Allen video for "The Fear"

Sun, 12/07/2008 - 3:13AM by Ineedclarity 0 Comments - 37 Views

After a rough year, I'm glad Lily Allen is back with new music. I'm digging the song and the video is cute.

Hopefully I'll get to see her in concert next year. I was supposed to see in '07, but didn't cause she was denied a visa to the U.S.

My Review of Twilight: Spoiler Alert, so read at your own risk!!!!

Fri, 11/21/2008 - 4:02AM by Ineedclarity 4 Comments - 200 Views

So it's been about an hour after I watched Twilight and I have to say I liked the movie.

But before I go on to my review, I have to say good job to my local movie theater for being very well organized in letting people in. They came with a system where only a certain number of people would go into the theaters depending on what time you got there. So when it finally came to getting to the screening rooms, there was no crazy melee.

Luckily my friend and I were part of the first group so we got good seats. No front row for me! This was about 8:45pm so for the next 3 hours we sat and waited for the movie to start. As you would guess with a room full of young girls, some stupid drama did occur, but that was nipped in the bud early on. I say for movies like this, have a screening room for only people 21+, so we don't have to deal with most teens.

But once the movie started there was minimal talking which was really nice. They showed the obligatory trailers. One of them was for Harry Potter and the Half-Blooded Prince, which would have been released today. The movie looks good and I can't wait to see it next summer. Oh and about the trailer for Push, isn't basically Heroes but with Dakota Fanning, the guy from The Fantastic Four and Joe Jonas' rumored girlfriend? How original.

Anyway, on to the movie. I have to say if you haven't seen it and have really, really high hopes for the movie, turn it down a notch or else you will be disappointed. The movie will never be as good as the book. But what movies are unless they are some sweeping miniseries. Instead if you go into be intrigued and entertained, you might like it.

My thoughts...

*Where's my beloved meadow scene? They did have some type of meadow scene but it wasn't the same. It should have been like it was in the book. I wanted Edward to tell her how he runs or at least give some explanation, not all of a sudden have him give her a piggyback ride.

*With that the first half of the movie was really rushed especially with Bella and Edwards romance. There was no real "human minute." Everything was going at a breakneck speed. There should have been more wit and nuance to their romance. I would have liked an extra 30min to help develop the storyline. Where as I thought The Dark Knight was way too long, Twilight was not long enough.

*Did anyone else laugh at Edwards reaction to seeing Bella for the first time? It was painful to watch. I wanted to see his hands dig into the table, not covering his mouth. I love Rob, but that was so intense that it was laughable. There were a lot of parts in the movie where it was super intense. I could understand why the producers wanted Rob and Kristen to be a little more light. Also in some scenes, I couldn't feel the chemistry between them. Maybe from all the intensity.

*However from the baseball scene on, the movie was being more faithful to the book. I did love the baseball scene, with the Muse song playing the background. Would love to witness a game like that.

*How about the kiss scene? Loved it.

Those were some of my thoughts on the movie. What did you guys think of it? Would you watch it again? I'm going to. It's not the most perfect movie, but it was valiant effort and it kept me entertained.
If they do film New Moon I hope it will be better.

I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
